PRACTICE MANAGER: If you have any enquiries or comments on services available please ask to speak to Sheila Lamkin. We offer a Practice Complaints Procedure to deal with comments, suggestions and complaints about the services we provide. Our aim is to give you the highest possible standard of service and we try to deal quickly with any problem that may occur.

Help for the disable is available on request.

PRACTICE NURSES: Pam Wheeler RGN, RSCN, Cert, Ed., Diploma Asthma Care, Diploma COPD, joined the practice in 1998. Pam has specific interests in Coronary Heart Disease management, Asthma management and Smoking Cessation as well as conduction routine nursing procedures in surgery.

Julie Frost, RGN, has been working as a Practice Nurse here since 2006. She has special interest in Diabetes and is happy to advise people on their day to day management.

Advice on travel vaccination is available and most vaccines are stocked at the surgery. There may be a charge for some of the vaccinations.

Health checks for men and women can be arranged. Both nurses have been fully trained to take cervical smears

HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT: Fahida Rehman-Manby works with the practice nurses. She can take blood, check blood pressure, syringe ears, etc. She also does some administrative work for the nurses’ clinics.

RECEPTION STAFF: There are five receptionists: Julia Cox, Jane Evans, Trudy Johnson, Clare Lewis and Rebecca Major, who help to ensure the sooth running o the practice. Their job is very demanding so please be patient if you are kept waiting on the phone or reception desk.

ATTACHED STAFF: Community nursing staff, midwives and health visitors are attached to the practice and provide care at home, especially for the elderly.

Julie Hughes, RGN, RM, RHV, is our attached Health Visitor, who has her own room at the surgery (telephone 867300) for counselling and advice about health problems, especially pre-school children. She runs a weekly baby clinic at the surgery and is concerned with monitoring your child’s development, either at the surgery or in your home.

Care for women during pregnancy is provided by your doctor at the surgery and by our community midwives at a surgery clinic or in your own home.

If you require any further help such as a community nurse, social worked or physiotherapist please ask at reception.

Dr. Cooper is a medical consultant to RELATE Torquay, and their counsellors provide a service at Catherine House Surgery once a week. If you need an appointment you should contact the office in Torquay on 297854.

Additional counselling services are also provided at the surgery.
