How to see your Doctor
You can see a doctor any morning in ‘open surgery’,
or make an appointment in the afternoon. Dr. Franklin has appointment
surgeries on some mornings.
If you need to talk to a doctor or nurse by telephone this is
usually possible at about 11.30 a.m. towards the end of morning
surgery. Please make clear to the receptionist if you need an
urgent call.
If you wish to be seen at the Harbertonford surgery on a Thursday
afternoon, please let us know so that your records can be available.
When the surgery is closed
The surgery is closed at 6.30 p.m. each evening, on Saturdays
and Sundays and on Bank Holidays. Emergency care out of hours
is provided by Devon Doctors on Call who are based at Totnes
Community Hospital - contact number 0845 6710 270. There is
also a nurse-led
minor illness and injury unit open 24hours.
Home Visits
Please telephone before 10.30 a.m. if you need a home visit. This
will help the doctors to plan their rounds. Describing your symptoms
to the receptionist will help the doctor see the more urgent cases
first.
